RE: Are you camping this weekend and where?

We are headed out Friday morning for Omaha, AR - Ozark View and then on the Tablerock State Park in Branson. Can't wait!! We are going out on this "amateur" weekend because of dh's job and this is when he is off! As someone said, you do what you have to do! Lynn

RE: kitchen sink faucet

Actually, that is one of the first things we did! The plastic faucet that came on our brand new fiver blew off the very first time we turned the water on! DH and I went to Home Depot, picked out a better faucet, came home and put it on. Works great! Lynn

RE: 3 Night Minimums

Just last week we made reservations at Tablerock St. Park in Branson for July 5-8. We had to make it for 4 days even though we are only staying three. Don't know if it had anything to do with it being a holiday weekend but we felt lucky to get a full hookup site at the last minute (I think it was the only one left!) We are staying the 4th in Omaha at Ozark View - only about 15 minutes from Branson. We figured the extra $20 was worth it in order to get a spot!:) Lynn

RE: Royal Gorge Canon City,Co

Don't know if you would have time or not, but we went to Canyon City and rafted the Arkansas river. What a blast! Oh and the Gorge is great too! http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/rvnutts/RaftingtheArkansas001.jpg height=320 width=240

RE: Using Dish

Thanks so much for your replies. It really does help. I think we will try setting up here at home before our next trip to make sure we know what we are doing. I may be back with more questions once we start the setting up process. Thanks again! :) Lynn

Using Dish

To begin with, I apologize for being technology impaired. I did a search but am not sure of what I found. I have a sat. dish (DISH network) my son left when he moved. I also use DISH and have a dual reciever in my home. My question is, can I use these when I go camping and what else would I need. Our fiver is wired for sat. If it will work, I know that we would need a base of some sort or tripod for the dish. What kind of cable would I need. Thanks in advance for having patience with my question! Lynn

RE: Little Rock AR

Hey, swing by Cold Stone Creamery on Chenal for some good ice cream. Tell manager Chris that his mom said HI! :W Lynn On edit, there are now two IMAX theaters in LR. The one by the airport also has airplane exhibits and a cool theater (Can't think of what it is called) where you sit back in the darkened theater and they project the night sky and stars on the ceiling. My 11 yr. old son loved it. Lynn

RE: Branson, Mo.

We are going to Branson this Friday for Memorial weekend. We are staying at Cooper's Creek. Last year we stayed at Compton's close to Silver Dollar City and our son really enjoyed the pool. You have to take the family to Silver Dollar City. They are having their BBQ and Bluegrass Fest. WE ate the BBQ last year and it was delicious. The girls and grandparets will love SDC. It is definitly not Vegas. If you go after three you get the next day free. Go in late and stay for the show in Echo Hollow then do the next day. Some of our favorite things are riding the Ducks, the Branson Belle, IMAX, and shows. One of our favorite shows is at the Grand Country Mall. It isn't very big or as expensive as some of the other shows but you won't be disappointed. We also enjoyed going to the newly developed Branson Landing for shopping and water light shows. We always find something new to do every time we go. Hope you enjoy your trip! Lynn

RE: What kind of wheel chocks do you use???

Just got our Roto chocks in last week for our first trip. DH was skeptical at first but after the trip he said he LOVED them! Talked to Pearl on the phone for 20 minutes just chating after I ordered. Just like everyone on here had said - she is soooo nice! Next purchase will be JT strongarms! Lynn

RE: ~Post your campsite photos here~

We had a great time at Daisy St. Park on Lake Greeson in Ar. Can't remember the site number but it was in their newest loop. Went digging for diamonds - just found rocks!:( http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/rvnutts/DaisyStPark08/100_0673.jpg height=160 width=120http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/rvnutts/DaisyStPark08/100_0675.jpg height=160 width=120 http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/rvnutts/DaisyStPark08/100_0663.jpg height=160 width=120http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/rvnutts/DaisyStPark08/100_0671.jpg height=160 width=120

RE: Branson RV Parks

Hi, Just saw your message. We stayed at Compton's last year. It has a nice pool and kiddie pool. Really close to Silver Dollar City. Nice laundry. Didn't go in the bathhouses. It has a shuttle to SDC. It has changed owners since we were there. It was ok but did need a little sprucing up. We are going to stay at Cooper Creek over Memorial Weekend. I will post pics and opinions when we get back. Here is a pic of our site at Compton's. Hope you have fun! Lynn http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/rvnutts/100_0249.jpg height=320 width=240

Stabilizer opinions needed

This is just our second season with our fiver so we are still learning! We put off buying stabilizers until this year and now with diesel prices the way they are our money is tight. We had wanted to get the JT stongarms but because of price are now looking at the Wayne's stabilizers. Those of you that have those, are we going to get almost the same results with the Wayne's? We found the Wayne's for free shipping and $4o apiece which is a lot cheaper than the JT's. Thanks in advance for any comments. Lynn

RE: Texas to Branson

Hi! We are going to Branson over Memorial Weekend. Hope you enjoy your time in Branson. I don't know your route, but in Arkansas some places you might enjoy are: Murphresburo(?) Diamond Mine, Hot Springs, Mt. View and the Folk Center, Blanchard Springs Caverns, Eureka Springs and the Passion Play. Hope you enjoy your trip along the way. Lynn

RE: Best of the "midline" fivers?

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that we got the Sydney Outback last year and really are enjoying it. No, it is not top of the line but we could not afford them. We also loved the light interior cabinents and the roominess of our floor plan. And DH loves to use the outdoor kitchen. We do not have the bedroom slide but they do offer it now. DH is 6'3" and can easily stand in the shower and dressing area of the bedroom. Hope you find what is best for you and your family! :) http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/rvnutts/100_0310.jpg height=320 width=240

RE: Keystone Sydney

Hi and Welcome! We love our Outback. Some of the things that drew us to this fiver: Light interior, oposing slides in the living area, built-in outdoor cooktop, DH could stand up in the shower and dressing area in front of bed (he is 6'3")and cost! We could not afford some of the higher end models. Hope you find one that you love and enjoy the time spent rving with your family. We sure are!;) Lynn http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t261/rvnutts/100_2113.jpg height=320 width=240

RE: Getting to Blazing Star

Thanks to all for the advice. I am going to try those webclicks as soon as I can. We will be coming in to San Antonio on a Sat. probably around 2-4 depending on how our travel goes. We can't wait! We have Sea World, the Alamo, and river walk on our agenda so far. Again, thanks to all. Lynn
